Our Response Process
When Homer Community Schools receives an accessibility request, we will:
- Acknowledge receipt of the request as soon as reasonably possible.
- Review the reported accessibility concern.
- Work with the appropriate district staff and Technology Department to determine the most effective solution.
- Correct accessibility issues whenever feasible.
- Notify the individual when the issue has been resolved or provide an estimated timeline if additional work is required.
Access to Information During the Review Process
If requested information is not immediately accessible, Homer Community Schools will make every reasonable effort to provide the information through an alternative accessible method while corrections are being made.
Alternative formats or methods may include:
- Accessible PDF documents
- HTML web pages
- Large-print documents
- Electronic text
- Telephone assistance
- In-person assistance by appointment
- Other reasonable accommodations based on the individual's needs
Our goal is to ensure that individuals have timely access to the same information available to all users. Homer Community Schools will acknowledge accessibility requests within two (2) business days and will work diligently to resolve reported issues or provide the requested information in an accessible format as quickly as practicable.
